Details of assessments and indicative weighting of the different modes of assessments
Article 4 
During the first year and for each semester, all modules are compulsory. During the second and third year, student must follow all core modules and must choose one of the two streams. Modules with practicals and the dissertation module have a weight of 2 (“coefficient 2”). All other courses have a weight of 1 (“coefficient 1”).

Article 5
Modules with practicals are subjected to a written examination of 3 hours. The candidates can choose between two topics for each subject. For each relevant subject, the grade for the written examinations, over 20, makes up 75% of its overall score.

Article 6
During the written examinations, if necessary, documents will be distributed to the students at the same time as the examination topics. In the absence of the express authorisation of the lecturer responsible for the subject, all information support, processing or communication (programmable calculator, IT tool, etc.) is prohibited. The use of all handbooks or documents containing personal annotations is prohibited. All cheating or attempted cheating is liable to disciplinary actions.

Article 7
The practicals are subjected to a continuous assessment of which the grade, over 20, established under the responsibility of the lecturer charged with providing lecture courses, is determined by taking into account the knowledge of the student, his attendance rate, his ability to respond to questions given, and the progress made. The grade makes up 25% of the overall score for the subject.

Article 8
Subjects which do not require practicals will be assessed through an oral exam, marked over 20, except for the Legal Research, Skills and Methods and Communication skills for lawyers/Moot calls classes which are only subjected to a continuous assessment, over 20. Based on the decision of the lecturer responsible for the class and with the consent of the programme coordinator, a written examination of 1.5 hour, marked over 20 and organised in accordance with the provisions of Article 6 above, can be substituted for the oral exam.
The dissertation will consist of an original written work of at least 50 pages and should not exceed 100/110 pages, prepared under the guidance of a supervisor. It is subject to a mandatory thesis defence before a jury consisting of two lecturers or actors of the legal world. It is marked over 20.

Article 9
The first session consists of two examination periods.
The papers for the first examination period cover all subjects which have been completed by the end of the first semester of the current academic year. They are held at the end of the first semester. Students are informed about the grades obtained. The papers for the second examination period cover all subjects which have been completed by the end of the second semester of the current academic year. They are held at the end of the second semester. Students are informed about the grades obtained.

Article 10
A subject can be validated by the Board of Examiners if the student has obtained a grade equal or higher to 10 over 20.
The grade obtained for one semester is calculated over the combined average obtained assigned from the coefficients specified in Article 4 for the classes of the said semester.
A semester can be validated by the Board of Examiners if the student has obtained a grade equal or higher to 10 over 20.

Article 11
The student is admitted to each academic year if he has obtained a grade equal or higher to the combined average in all of the courses assigned to the above-mentioned coefficients of the respective year. This combined average makes it possible to determine the final mention attributed to the student (10: Pass mark, 13: Mention Assez Bien (with honours), 15: Mention Bien (high honours), 17: Mention Très Bien (very high honours).

Article 12
The student, once admitted, cannot sit for the examinations a second time.

Article 13
The second session is organised based on the lessons in which the student did not pass during his first session.

Article 14
During the second session, the student will sit for all subjects in which he did not obtain a grade equal or higher to the pass mark.
It should be noted that during the second session and under the same conditions as in the first session, all continuous assessment grade obtained in practical classes and in all subjects consisting of only continuous assessments are taken into account.

Article 15
Articles 10 and 11 can be applied to the second examination session.
In case of failure following the second session, the semester or the subject(s) in which the student has passed is considered as final.

Article 16
The student can apply for a second year of LL.B if he has passed in at least four subjects for each semester, mandatorily including te practicals.
The student can apply for a third year of LL.B if he has passed in at least four subjects for each semester, mandatorily including the practicals.

Article 17
Waiver of attendance
A waiver of attendance to the Practicals may be granted to students who are working professionals, who have children, who are handicapped, who practice sports on a high level or who have been granted the exceptional permission by the President of the University. To be granted such waiver, are required to send a written request to the President of the University, attaching to it the documents justifying their situation. In the case that the waver is granted, the student shall undergo, for all modules, one sole final examination of his/her knowledge per module. Following the start of the first semester’s classes, the student has a period of one and a half month to make such request, except in cases of force majeure.
Notwithstanding these provisions, and based on medical advice, the President of the University shall be able to grant a waiver of one semester only to a student with a handicap or a disabling health disorder.
In the case where a module is graded with one sole grade based on a continuous assessment, this grade shall be replaced by an oral test to be assessed by the professor.
